Two juveniles arrested after shots fired at vehicle in rural Cass Lake Minnesota

(Fargo, ND) -- Cass County Sheriff Bryan Welk says two juvenile males were arrested after they allegedly opened fire on two other juveniles riding in a vehicle on 164th ST NW, west of 61st Avenue NW in Pike Bay Township. 

The incident was reported at 11:06 Thursday morning. 

The victims, who were not injured, say several rounds were fired at their vehicle.  

Deputies and Officers immediately set up a perimeter and began searching for the two suspects who reportedly fled the area on foot. 

Numerous officers, a K9 team, drone teams, tracked ATV, and snowmobiles were all involved in a search in a wooded area.

Both suspects were eventually found and taken into custody without incident. 

The sheriff says weapons were recovered.

Investigators indicates the the juveniles were known to each other.

The suspects are being held at a Juvenile Detention Facility with formal charges pending.

During the incident, several nearby Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Offices and facilities, the Cass Lake Indian Health Services and educational facilities were advised of the situation. 

They put lockdown procedures into place until the situation was resolved.
