Rep. Kelly Armstrong on Joe Biden's EV executive order: "we need gas and diesel-powered trucks in North Dakota"

(Fargo, ND) -- Representative Kelly Armstrong is speaking out against President Biden's executive order calling for half of all new vehicles sold in the U.S. by 2030 to be hybrid or electric.

"We need gas and diesel-powered trucks in North Dakota. We don't drive them as a status symbol.  We drive it because we're hauling six horses or heavy equipment, or there is still snow on the ground in the second week of April, and all of that," said Armstrong.

Armstrong also says the administration has effectively shut down mining for rare earth elements in the U.S., which are needed to produce EV batteries.

He further says production of those elements are controlled by countries adversarial to the United States, including China and Russia.
