(Wyndmere, ND) -- The man accused of killing a Wyndmere couple in a hit and run along Highway 11 last May did not show in court.

Corey and Amber Volesky were killed on their motorcycle after Roberto Eguiza hit them from behind in his pickup truck on May 28th, 2022. He fled on foot and called a friend to pick him up, but was eventually arrested and charged.

"Instead of calling 911, or rendering aid, or just sticking around to see if they were okay, he decided to run away, "said Megan Lutjens, Corey's sister, "It took police about six hours to apprehend him."

A warrant is out for Eguiza's arrest after he never showed up to a pre-trial hearing this past Monday.
