(St. Paul, MN) --  Minnesota Lawmakers are working on a compromise on possession limits ahead of possible recreational marijuana legalization.

A House proposal allowed 1.5lbs and the Senate allowed up to 5lbs if residents grew the plants at home. A House-Senate Conference Committee revised the proposal to a 2lb limit. The revision also decriminalizes possession, expunging previous related charges as soon as this August. A 10% tax, in addition to state sales tax, would be put on any THC products, with 80% covering the Office of Cannabis and 20% going to local governments.
