Train carrying hazardous materials derails near Lancaster

(Lancaster, MN) -- Minnesota State Officials are working to clear a train derailment near Lancaster that happened around 4:30 p.m on Wednesday.

Authorities says some derailed cars contained hazardous materials, but there are no apparent spills at this time. A section of Highway 59 south of Lancaster is closed as the scene is cleared, but experts say to expect closures for the next few days.

No injuries are reported by authorities.
