West Nile Virus confirmed in Grand Forks mosquitoes

(Grand Forks, ND) -- The West Nile Virus has been detected in Grand Forks.

A group of mosquitoes were collected on Tuesday, and testing found them to be positive for the virus. While most people infected with the virus don't experience severe symptoms, a small percentage of people experience potentially deadly brain swelling. Health officials are recommending that people wear long clothing, apply bug spray, and remove standing water from their properties to combat the issue.
