(Updated: 12:00 p.m.) -- Authorities are releasing the identity of a human body found in the Sheyenne River on July 17th.
The Valley City Police Department says the body has been identified as 22-year-old Branden Elias from Independence, Minnesota. Branden was reported missing in the town on July 17th.
The incident is still under investigation by the Valley City Police Department

(Valley City, ND) -- The Valley City Police Department has identified the body of a man who was recovered from the Sheyenne River on July 17th.
Authorities say they are notifying family before notifying the public of the man's name. Police found the deceased man in the Sheyenne River near at 1000 Riverview Drive. The person was reported seen by a citizen over the weekend prior to the discovery of his body.
The case is still under investigation by Valley City Police.
