(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota Doctor Scott Jensen says he’s considering another run at the governor’s office in 2026.

Jensen, a Republican who gained national prominence for his opposition to the state’s COVID response, lost to incumbent Democrat Tim Walz by about 192-thousand votes last November, a 7.7% margin.

Speaking on the Steve Hallstrom Show on WZFG The Flag, Jensen, was asked if he’s considering running again.  He responded, “It certainly crosses my mind. In Minnesota, we have so many thousands of good people and I’m getting a lot of encouragement to at least keep that door open, so I certainly will.”

Jensen says he’s talked to many Minnesotans in the nine months since the loss, and says if Republicans don’t bring a more moderate stance to social issues like abortion, they are going to continue to lose elections.Minnesota Republicans have not won a statewide race since 2006. The party not only lost the governor and secretary of state races in 2022, they also lost two races that political experts thought could be winnable -- the attorney general's race and the race for state auditor.
