Train, semi collide in northwestern Minnesota

(KITTSON COUNTY) -- A train and semitrailer have collided in Kittson County, approximately six-and-a-half miles northwest of the City of Humboldt.

The Kittson County Sheriff's Office tells WDAY Radio Now that the collision happened at just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, and has resulted in multiple injuries. A dispatcher with the sheriff's office says one of the injuries is severe, but the extent of any injuries is unknown at this time. The Sheriff's Office says that the roads in the area, which span across County Road 55, and the intersecting County Roads 70 and 30, are shut down at this time.

The investigation is ongoing, as CP Rail has taken over the investigation. The Sheriff's Office is assisting CP Rail.
