(Becida, MN) -- A northern Minnesota mother is facing charges after allegedly shooting one of her sons with a BB gun after he hurt his brother while they were wrestling.

The Hubbard County Sheriff's Office says Katherin Ewald-Conner of Becida was arrested last week for domestic assault and malicious punishment of a child. The two boys were wrestling on Wednesday when one of them got a bloody nose. Ewald-Conner reportedly shot her nine-year-old son in the leg with the BB gun as he tried to run away, then chased after him and shot him in the forehead after he climbed up on the roof of their home.

Authorities say Ewald-Conner admitted the act to deputies and gave the gun to them when she was questioned.
