(Washington, DC)  --  North Dakota's congressional delegation says federal funding to upgrade rail service in the southeast will allow for track improvements between Casselton and Wahpeton.

The $12-million grant announced last week means the Red River Valley and Western Railroad Company can design and build track improvements between the two cities.

The upgrades will accommodate the increase in carloads of soybeans expected with the new soybean crushing plant under construction in Casselton.

Senators Cramer and Hoeven and Representative Kelly Armstrong expect to see more than ten-thousand carloads of soybeans a year transported between the two cities.
