Fatal Mandan crash leaves one man dead and a woman seriously injured

(Mandan, ND) -- A crash on the Memorial Highway is leaving one man dead and another woman seriously injured.

The crash occurred Friday just before 4:00 p.m. east of 32nd Avenue South East on the Memorial Highway near Mile Marker 919. A vehicle, driven by an unidentified 37-year-old Mandan male, was traveling eastbound when it entered the westbound lanes and struck another vehicle head on.

The vehicles came to rest blocking traffic in both westbound lanes for several hours. 

The unidentified male was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead. The second vehicle's driver, an unidentified 56-year-old Mandan woman, was taken to a separate hospital for serious injuries. The names of those involved are expected to be released later today.
