5 Officers Shot near Princeton, Minnesota

(UPDATE: 11:33 A.M.) -- WDAY Radio is learning additional details about the shots fired incident that resulted in five wounded police officers.

Jake Judd, a Journalist with KNSI News Radio in St. Cloud, says aerial photos from news helicopters show a possible suspect in custody following a shooting in the farming community of Glendorado Township early Thursday morning. WDAY Radio is attempting to confirm the arrest at this time.

A possible semi-automatic weapon was used in the shooting, but Judd says that has not been confirmed by authorities. At this time, it is uknown if there was an exchange of gunfire between officers and the suspect.

PRINCETON, Minn. - Five officers have been shot near Princeton, Minnesota and the suspect is not yet in custody.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office says the incident occurred Thursday morning near the intersection of 190th Avenue Northeast and Glendorado Road Northeast in Glendorado Township just west of Princeton which is about 30 miles East of St. Cloud.

Officials have confirmed with a number of media outlets that five officers were shot. Three are being treated at North Memorial Hospital and two others at St. Cloud Hospital. They all have non-life threatening injuries. 

Officials say the suspect is still at the scene, but not yet in custody. The public has been advised to avoid the area.
