North Dakota's unemployment rate drops slightly in September

(Bismarck, ND) --  Job Service North Dakota says the state's unemployment rate has dropped slightly.

The data focuses on September, which shows the non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 1.3% compared to August's 1.5%. For comparison, the U.S. non adjusted unemployment rate is 3.6%.

Job Service ND also showed that Bismarck is the only Metro city to lose employees in September (about 100), with Fargo and Grand Forks showing decent gains (400 and 1000). Government (+300), Private Educational and Health Services (+200), Manufacturing (+100), and Wholesale Trade (+100) reported employment gains.

North Dakota ranked 2nd among all states for seasonally adjusted unemployment rates (1.9%). Maryland is first at 1.6%
