(Beulah, ND) -- Bond is set at a half-million dollars for Ian Cramer, the son of Senator Kevin Cramer, the suspect linked to Wednesday's death of a Mercer County lawman.

Officials say Ian Cramer remains in custody for his alleged role in the death of local Sheriff's Deputy Paul Martin.  Martin was on duty when Cramer allegedly stole a vehicle in Bismarck before leading deputies on a high-speed chase through Mercer County.  A short time later, officials say, Cramer crashed his SUV into a parked patrol car.  That impact drove the patrol car into Deputy Martin, who was standing nearby.  Martin was declared dead at the scene.
