(Grand Forks, ND) --  A Grand Forks man has been charged with numerous crimes after he led police on a pursuit early last weekend.

It began when police tried to stop Bruce Austreng from leaving the scene of a drug overdose, but he drove away. He reportedly drove through yards, caused damage to an apartment building, and swerved all over the road as police pursued him, and he eventually crashed at the intersection of 6th Avenue North and 42nd Street. Police say they found him in possession of illegal drugs including meth, and Austreng reportedly admitted to being under the influence during the chase.

Austreng faces a list of drug, DUI, and fleeing charges. This includes possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, fleeing, reckless endangerment, DUI, refusal to halt, leaving the scene of an accident, and ingesting a controlled substance,
