Panel selects final Minnesota state flag design

(St. Paul, MN)  —  A final design has been selected for Minnesota’s new state flag after thousands of options and months of debate.

The State Emblems Redesign Commission voted today to approve the final design, which includes a solid light blue color to represent the Mississippi River, a white eight-point star and a deep blue Minnesota-style shape.

The commission will meet one last time to sign off on its final report to the legislature.
