(Minot, ND) — Authorities in Minot have released the identities of the victim and suspect in a deadly Christmas Eve shooting.
Minot police were called to an apartment where the shooting happened at around 8:45 p.m., finding 41-year-old Nicholas Van Pelt shot to death and a 40-year-old woman wounded. Officers arrested 39-year-old Daniel Breijo in connection with the shooting, and he reportedly assaulted a correctional officer at the Ward County Jail.
Breijo faces charges of charges of murder, attempted murder, and simple assault on a peace or correctional officer.
