Minnesota Representative not running for re-election in 2024

(Duluth, MN) — Minnesota State Representative Liz Olson won’t seek re-election. 

The Democrat announced Friday morning she plans to leave the House after her current term. Olson, who leads the House Ways and Means Committee, said its been an honor to represent the people of Duluth over the last eight years. 

Her announcement comes one day after State Representative Michael Nelson revealed he will not run for re-election and plans to retire after more than 20 years in the House. Nelson currently represents District 38-A, which covers Brooklyn Park and parts of Osseo.
