(Bismarck, ND) -- Supporters of Robert F. Kennedy Junior are working to get their chosen presidential candidate on North Dakota's 2024 ballot.

Campaign officials say North Dakota is one of three states that are refusing to send out ballet petitions for non-mainstream presidential candidates. Kennedy is the oldest son of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated while campaigning for president in 1968.

Supporters of Kennedy's presidential campaign say North Dakota is critical to their campaign as roughly one-third of state voters say they are Independents.
