(Jamestown, ND) -- A family is suing a a non-profit developmental delay assistance center after they say staff sexually assaulted their daughter.

The family is suing the Anne Carlson Center in Stutsman County Court for an alleged sexual assault of their then seven year old daughter, who was receiving child care services at the location. The suit comes after the family noticed bruising on the girl's thighs and blood in her underwear, and claims an employee of the facility sexually assaulted the child.

In 2020, a suspect identified as Michael Hunt-Walters was charged with gross sexual imposition, but the case was later dropped due to a lack of sufficient evidence and probable cause. Additionally, the child in the case was not able to identify a suspect when asked, and did not disclose if they were assaulted in a conversation with investigators at the time.

The Anne Carlson Center denies allegations of wrongdoing and negligence.
