(Fargo, ND) -- Neche resident Travis Hipsher is providing details on his platform as he looks to become the first democrat to be elected Governor of North Dakota since 1988.

"I've pretty much been waiting to have this opportunity to push my ideas to the people to see if it is something that would work for them," said Hipsher.

Hipsher describes himself as a "centrist".

Hipsher says his platform priorities are rural sustainability, including money for infrastructure and mental health services.

He also wants the state to invest in chip manufacturing, and to use legal immigration to help address the workforce shortage.

Hipsher appeared on WDAY Mid Day.
