(Minot, ND) -- North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley says violent crime in the state is an urgent issue.

Wrigley addressed the Ward County Bar Association in Minot on Friday. The Minot Daily News says the AG wants policymakers to take a serious look at the issues especially when it comes to repeat violent offenders.

Wrigley says police have to routinely deal with violent offenders who are released early and continue to commit crime.
