(Region) — A predicted winter storm has caused schools and businesses across the region to alter schedules for Tuesday.

Moorhead Area Public Schools, along with all non-public schools, are closed.  Moorhead Area Public School students in grades E-12 are required to complete an eLearning day, and all before-school, after-school and evening activities are canceled.

At West Fargo, there will be no instructional expectations for learners, virtual or otherwise. This means that all district facilities will be closed, and all activities (including all programs, meetings, trainings, rentals, practices, and contests) have been canceled. This day of instruction will be made up on Friday, April 19, 2024.

The West Fargo Sports Arena will communicate any weather-related closures directly with outside rental clients; any scheduled high school practices and contests are canceled. The Hulbert Aquatic Center will share their plan for outside rentals and facility programming via their website and Facebook page. Any scheduled high school practices and contests are canceled. YMCA programming at the Early Childhood Center will remain open; all after-school care programs offered by the YMCA in other WFPS school buildings are closed.  Additionally, the Metro Area Tournament Committee and NDHSAA will make the decision on all EDC tournament games that are scheduled

The University of North Dakota Main Campus in Grand Forks closed at 10 p.m. Monday, due to deteriorating winter weather and blizzard conditions that could make travel in the region hazardous. This closure includes the UND Wellness Center and Memorial Union. The University plans to reopen for normal operations two hours late, at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 27, to allow campus and city crews time to prepare roadways.

Fargo Public Schools (FPS) classes, extra-curricular activities, and parent-teacher conferences are canceled for Tuesday, February 27, including the Early Childhood Special Education pre-school program and Adult Learning Center.

Due to the cancelation, FPS will use the storm make up day built into the school calendar of Monday, April 1; students and staff will be expected to be in school on April 1.

At NDSU, campus will be closed Tuesday, February 27. Only designated essential personnel are to report to work.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Red River Valley have announced that all before and after school programs are canceled Tuesday.
