(Rugby, ND) -- A central North Dakota town is looking to add an optometrist.

Up till recently, the Dakota Eye Institute in Rugby saw patients who needed eye checkups, but the business closed at the end of December, leaving patients blindsided. The clinic served around 90 patients a week, patients who now have to travel to see an eye doctor.

The Job Development Authority is offering a $50,000 start-up incentive over the course of five years to any optometrist interested in moving to Rugby. That could include the repayment of student loans or help finding office space.
