(St. Paul, MN) -- The number of moose in Minnesota has stabilized after dropping over the last few decades.

The Department of Natural Resources recently completed its annual aerial moose count. The effort found just under 3,500 moose, which is near the annual average for the last few years.

The agency says climate change, predators and parasites have all combined to reduce the moose population by about 60% since the early part of the 2000s.
