(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon is helping prisoners prepare to have their voting rights restored.

Simon visited the state prison in St. Cloud to discuss the Restore the Vote Act. All of the inmates he spoke to will be released before the November 5th General Election.

Some conservative groups have challenged the Restore the Vote Act in a previous lawsuit, saying it violates the state's constitution which addresses when civil rights can be restored.
