Minnesota Supreme Court to hear felon voting case arguments

(St. Paul, MN)  --   The Minnesota Supreme Court is expected to hear arguments Monday connected to a lawsuit concerning voting rights for 55-thousand felons.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota will urge the state high court to preserve voting rights for people who already have voted in primaries and elections for close to a year.

Meanwhile, another group is asking the court to rule that a law passed last year that restores felon's rights to vote when they leave prison is unconstitutional.

Governor Tim Walz signed the legislation in March 2023.
