(Bismarck, ND) -- A Bismarck couple has pleaded not guilty to the fentanyl-related death of their two-year-old son.

Police responded to the home of Jordan Many Ribs and Jasmine Charging in January, and found an unresponsive child who was pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigators say there was fentanyl, meth, and other drugs easily accessible to children in the house, and that the medical examiner found a lethal amount of fentanyl in the boy's system.

Police say Charging admitted to cleaning up evidence of drugs and deleting information from her phone before calling the police. Defense attorneys say the child had a seizure months before.
