(St. Paul, MN)  --  The state Department of Employment and Economic Development is helping startups around Minnesota.

The agency announced last week that it was awarding nearly 675-thousand dollars in grants to 26 startups as part of its Launch Minnesota Business Operation Innovation program.

Grants of up to 35-thousand dollars are awarded to help cover research and development, business expenses and technical assistance.

Projects being developed by these companies include a device that helps stop nosebleeds, an app to help register kids for camps and activities, and a company working to simplify back-to-school shopping for parents.
