University Of Minnesota closes some campus buildings during protests

(Minneapolis, MN)  --  The University of Minnesota is being accused of stifling free speech by closing several buildings during ongoing protests on campus.

The university announced yesterday that a dozen buildings would be closed and others could begin restricting access to those with an official campus ID.

The news came as students gathered outside Northrop Auditorium to continue protests in support of a cease-fire in Gaza.

The university's Council of Graduate Students called the move unacceptable and accused officials of trying to halt the exercise of free speech.
