Senator Kevin Cramer criticizes new EPA rule regulating natural gas venting and flaring

(Fargo, ND) -- Senator Kevin Cramer is speaking out against a new rule from the Environmental Protection Agency.

"This crazy EPA of ours keeps putting out new rules and they came out with a final version, it's been pending for a few months, or a couple of months anyway, this venting and flaring rule as it relates to natural gas," said Cramer.

The new EPA rule establishes a new royalty on flared gas and monthly limits on allowable flaring.

The rule also includes new application requirements for operators regarding their ability to capture produced natural gas before they can obtain a permit to drill.
