St. Paul substitute teacher faces 15-years in prison after alleged sexual encounter with student

(St. Paul, MN) — A former substitute teacher in St. Paul faces serious allegations after a 17-year-old student reported that 24-year old Caitlin Thao engaged in sexual activity with him in an empty middle school classroom.

The student also told police that Thao invited him to her home, though he declined.

Thao has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and could potentially face 15 years in prison and a 30,000 fine if convicted.
