(St. Paul, MN)  --  The Minnesota BCA is starting a new investigative unit to target violent crime.

The Violent Crime Reduction Unit includes 14 agents, 11 task force officers from partner agencies, a firearms detection K9, and several support positions.

BCA leaders say the focus of the unit will be statewide, but that much of its work will be done in the Twin Cities area.
