HAWLEY, MN — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says an abandoned building burned to the ground early this morning in a structure fire.
Authorities were alerted to the fire at around 2:49 a.m. in the area of 231 270th Street North, arriving to find the abandoned building fully engulfed in flames and beginning to collapse. The owner of the residence was contacted and notified of the blaze. Authorities also say previous incidents of trespassing has occurred at the same structure. but have not indicated any one person caused the blaze at this time.
No injuries are reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
