WDAY RADIO — The Minnesota Republican Party is standing behind former President Donald Trump following his conviction in New York yesterday.
The chairman of the state Republican Party said he was deeply disappointed by the verdict, adding that it raised questions about the fairness of the judicial system. That sentiment was echoed by elected leaders like Republican Congressman Tom Emmer, who said the ultimate verdict would be delivered at the ballot box in November.
Democrats were nearly united in saying that the former president received a fair trial, with DFL Congresswoman Betty McCollum saying the verdict showed that “no person is above the law.”
