Abortion hearing set in South Dakota

(Pierre, SD) — The legal battle continues over the possibility of abortion being legalized in South Dakota.

That’s the option state voters will have with Constitutional Amendment G, which is set to go on the November ballot as of now. A judge dismissed the lawsuit to keep the measure off the ballot earlier this year. But the state supreme court has now sent the measure back to a lower court. There will be a hearing on August 26th, almost two weeks after the ballot question deadline.

Opponents are saying they will continue with the lawsuit even if Amendment G is on the ballot.
