All Aboard! CPKC Holiday Train returns to region with lights, music & free shows

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Holiday train enthusiasts can mark their calendars: CPKC released its 2025 schedule featuring stops in eight regional communities this December.

This is the 27th year that the decorated train, featuring holiday lights and music, has been spreading holiday cheer across North America.

CPKC says the train will stop at these North Dakota locations:

December 17

Hankinson – 122 First St. – 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

Enderlin – 101 Harvest Lane – 9:15 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

December 18

Carrington – 601 Sixth Avenue NE – 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Minnesota stops include:

December 16

Alexandria – Eighth Avenue & Nokomis – 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Detroit Lakes – Holmes Street Railroad Crossing near Holmes Community Center – 826 Summit – 2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Mahnomen – US 59 & East Washington Avenue – 4:20 p.m. to 4:50 p.m.

Plummer – Central Avenue railroad crossing – 6:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Thief River Falls – 405 Third St. E – 7:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

Performers at each of these locations will be Lanco and Tiera Kennedy.

The events are free, but organizers encourage monetary or food donations.
