BISMARCK, ND — The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality has issued advisories for toxic-blue green algae in five bodies of water.
The advisories are for Bowman-Haley Dam in Bowman County; Mud, Pearl, and Spiritwood Lakes in Stutsman County; and Cottonwood Lake in Williams County. Environmental officials say the algae can kill pets and make people sick.
Authorities urge you to avoid any water that looks like pea soup, green cottage cheese, or spilled green paint. You can find more details by clicking here.
