CARRINGTON, ND — Foster County’s Emergency Management Director says cleaning up the site of a fiery train derailment near Carrington could take all summer.
While the cars are off the tracks, they still have to be drained of all hazardous substances before they can be removed from the site. Cleanup crews will also have to take soil samples to check for contamination, and then remove any contaminated soil.
The derailment happened July 5th.
