(Bismarck, ND) — Emergency room visits related to tick bites are notably rising across the state.
That’s according to the CDC, which attributes this national trend to favorable conditions for ticks. Survival seasons for ticks are being expanded due to milder winter and wetter spring seasons. Children under ten and adults over 70 are included in the state’s more vulnerable populations.
State health officials suggest taking preventative measures including insect repellents and consistent tick check.
