MINNESOTA – Former Chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota David Hann has announced a Senate campaign.
The Vietnam War veteran served in the Minnesota Senate from 2003 to 2017 and was its Minority Leader from 2013 to 2017.
“Minnesota can lead the change by sending a senator to Washington who knows how to work with others without selling out principals. Someone who understands affordability and accountability go hand-in-hand,” Hann said in a campaign video.
Hann lost the race for the MNGOP chair in 2024 to Alex Plechash.
Democratic Senator Tina Smith announced earlier this year she wouldn’t campaign for her seat making this an open race.
Other Republicans in the race are former NBA player Royce White, Navy SEAL veteran Adam Schwarze and Navy veteran Tom Weiler. The Democrats running are Congresswoman Angie Craig and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan.
