MINNESOTA – Multiple residents in Minnesota are reportedly sick with Salmonella after the CDC, FDA and public health officials say the infections were linked to eggs.
As of Wednesday, 95 people across the country have been infected, including four in Minnesota.
The eggs were distributed by Country Eggs, LLC. On Wednesday, the company recalled eggs – specifically large brown cage free “sunshine yolk” or “omega-3 golden yolk” eggs distributed between June 16 and July 9 in California and Nevada. The eggs were packed under the carton brand names Nagatoshi Produce, Misuho and Nijya Markets with sell-by dates of July 1 through September 18 to grocery stores and food service distributors.
The CDC warns not to eat recalled eggs, wash items and surfaces that may have touched the recalled eggs using hot soapy water or a dishwasher and call your healthcare provider with any severe Salmonella symptoms.
