BISMARCK, ND – After nearly 40 years, the Executive Director of Bismarck-based Youth Works is retiring.
Melanie Heitkamp made the announcement late last week that her final day with the organization will be Friday. She says her reason to step aside is to ‘make space for the next generation of leaders and visionaries.’
In stepping aside, Heitkamp announced that Mark Heinert will be the organization’s next Executive Director. She cites has 29 years of experience at Youth Works and his advocacy as some of the highlights of what he brings to the Executive Director role.
Youth Works has offices in Bismarck, Fargo, Minot and Grand Forks.
