FARGO, N.D. – A Green Card holder from Iran who came to the United States and graduated from North Dakota State University calls the operations overtaken by Israel and the United States ‘a welcomed situation.’
‘American and Israeli came to the rescue’
“The Iranian people were the ones that asked for this rescue mission, and they begged for it and American and Israeli came to the rescue,” Rahil Mahini told The Flag’s Scott Hennen. “We are all thankful of them and we appreciate the American and Israeli soldier for their sacrifices.”
She went on to say the people from Iran are also thankful to President Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu ‘for keeping up their words and the promise that they had to Iranian people and fulfill the promise.’
“We are very thankful and happy for what happened (and) for what’s coming next,” Mahini said.
History of wanting regime change
Mahini said this wasn’t the first time the people of Iran took to the streets wanting regime change.
“It’s been going on for 47 years, but it was brutally crushed every time, each time worse than the previous time,” she said. “The last time was January 8th and 9th, which like around 36,000 people got massacred. A lot of young children, women, and they were all just came down and they were all freedom loving.”
She said the Iranians couldn’t make change by themselves. So they asked for help.
And Trump delivered.
Supporting the Crown Prince
Will Iranians support the Crown Prince?
“What we see on the ground is in every city they chant their name, they chant his name and people truly trust him because he just advocating for a secular, normal country,” Mahini said. “He wants to transition, just lead the transition and have a referendum at the end of the transition. So, Iranians pretty much trust him.”
Iranians are ‘beginning for normalcy’
While acknowledging it’s likely hard for some Americans to understand, Mahini said Iranians ‘are just begging for normalcy’ as the country has ‘endured a lot.’
“They cannot imagine what Iranian endured during this 47 years,” she said.
