GRAND FORKS, ND – The next phase of the Altru Hospital project is underway.
Crews on Tuesday began demolishing the former hospital, which closed at 6 a.m. on January 19, when the transition took place taking patients to their new facility, located to the north of where the former hospital is currently located.
“While we honor the legacy of this building and all it represented, we also look ahead with hope,” Altru Health System said in a social media post. “By the end of summer, we expect the demolition to be complete and after that the space will be transformed into a spacious patient and guest parking lot, making care even more accessible for our community.”
The land the former hospital currently sits on will be transformed into a parking lot for guests of the new hospital.
