BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Highway Patrol is advising motorists ahead of a significant weather system that is forecast to move across the region over the next several days.
“Beginning tonight and continuing through noon on Tuesday, freezing rain is expected in western and central North Dakota,” the Patrol said. “Additionally, high winds—gusting up to 65 mph—will impact the southwest, south-central, and central regions from Tuesday morning, December 9, through early morning Wednesday, December 10.”
The Highway Patrol urges motorists to reconsider travel plans as the combination of freezing rain and strong winds will create hazardous driving conditions.
