(MOOSE LAKE TOWNSHIP, MINN) – A man has died after jumping into a Minnesota lake on Tuesday evening.
According to the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, at 6:17 p.m. Tuesday, the Beltrami County 9-1-1 Emergency Communication Center received a report of a 30-year-old male that was unresponsive after jumping into Kitchi Lake. Live saving efforts were underway at the time of the report.
Upon arrival, law enforcement learned that the male, who has not been identified, had jumped from a dock into an area of shallow water. Lifesaving efforts, by law enforcement and other first responders, were continued but were not successful.
The male has been transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Bemidji Ambulance and Sanford AirMed.
