MCINTOSH COUNTY, N.D. – A 30-year-old Champlin, Minnesota man is dead after drowning during a hunting trip near Ashley, North Dakota.
It happened Wednesday in the Eszlinger Waterfowl Production Area.
The man drowned after trying to rescue his hunting dog.
The dog and another member of his hunting party survived.
The McIntosh County Sheriff’s Department responded alongside the Stutsman County Dive and Rescue team.
They found his body the next day.
