ANETA – One person was taken into custody after hours of negotiations in Lakota.
The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 600 block of Searns Avenue on a disturbance report involving an armed individual. The individual had barricade themselves inside a garage on the property.
Deputies arrived and established a perimeter to ensure safety of the area residents.
The individual refused to exit the garage, and authorities began negotiations.
The N.D. Highway Patrol and other law enforcement responded to the scene.
After several hours, the subject, who is not being named, was taken into custody without incident.
Nobody was injured, but the subject was taken to a local healthcare facility for evaluation.
